Charity Fundraising
A lot of the amazing people we meet wonder if we are collecting for charity - and the answer up to now has been 'Thanks, but no'. It's just not something we thought about during our planning.
But there is a charity which means a lot to us, so that's going to change!
Over 30 years ago Rob's Dad, Emrys, was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), and he's been on a downhill slope since then. Not the same sort of downhill slope that we enjoy!
Some years ago, Emrys found some freedom in learning to fly specially adapted light aircraft. Ever since, he’s been part of an amazing outfit helping other disabled people discover the same joy, as a Trustee and Director of a registered British disabled flying charity.
Aerobility puts disabled people right in the pilot's seat - in control of the airplane, and in charge of their lives. It's liberating at every level.
To see Aerobility at work you can check out their website or their Twitter.
How much you give is up to you, but 1000 cups of tea at a penny a cup makes £10, and the showers option looks like coming in around half that! If you’d like to give less, or more, that's cool too - knowing that we're helping will push us up some of the steeper climbs that we face. In the end we hope to raise a pound for every cup we drink.
To cut to the chase, our fundraising page can be found here and through the JustGiving link below, where it is possible to donate in most major currencies (British pounds, US dollars, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars and euros).
